Following a devastating end to the 2011 season after Carnaval Hill II suffered an injury at Bramham last season, he is now back in full work and bringing home the ribbons!
Finishing 2nd at Hunters today, Cassie is very pleased with the result and hopes that this is simply a taster of the season to come.
After being unable to complete Gatcombe, Arron's muscle problem reached a new high and on the advise of John Killingbeck Arron was put on an immediate holiday. He spent his time in his field with 2 other companions. He has grown a very thick wooly coat. The blood levels are now much improved he is using up his reserves, which is what we were hoping to happen. Arron is becoming increasingly bored of his lazy life - he knows he has a job to do - so as from the 6th January 2011 I will start a slow programme of bringing him back into work.
After a frustrating and disappointing 2010 event season, Arron's health is paramount and if things do not work out in 2011 I will feel priviledged to have been able to have owned a horse I bought as a 5 year old and produced to 3* level. However, I am optimistic that he will come good and I can soon think of putting a plan together for 2011.
The plan for Eric is to do a few dressage competitions, take him hunting and sell him to a good home.
Cassie Price and Coolagaden Clover competed at their 3rd ever event at Gatcombe's Festival of British Eventings 4 year old BYE qualifier.
Competition was high for the 4 year old class, which saw some of the best international riders showing their latest talent. Coming a fantastic 18th out of 35 competitiors gives a great start to Coolagaden Clover's eventing career as he looks to compete at Hartbury for the last BYE qualifier of the season on Wednesday.
Cassie Price and Carnaval Hill II set off to a fantastic start at their first ever time at Bramham CIC***. Settling into a comfortable 10th after the dressage phase on the Thursday.
Course builder Ian Stark confessed of the toughest XC course for 10 years at the Internationally renowned horse trials.
Unfortunately the XC phase saw the end of the run for Cassie and Carnaval Hill II as they were elimated at fence 14. Cassie was pleased with the result. Only 50 of the 57 completed the course with some of the top riders withdrawing from the competition following the dressage.
